2026 Mid-Year Update

After completing our first full calendar year of leading MERCI, Brittany and I realized something important, we can’t and shouldn’t try to lead and do everything ourselves. We’re convinced that isn’t what God desires. This year, our focus has been on utilizing the body of Christ. While we continue to lead some events, we’ve invited others to lead or co‑lead. It has been a joy to watch both seasoned and first-time leaders share their gifts to encourage the couples we are blessed to serve. We are deeply grateful for the faithful believers who have served alongside us and who have made this year fruitful, and we look forward with anticipation to what God will do next.

Additionally, Brittany and I had the honor to share how Christ has worked through our marriage on the Men’s Clark County Jail Residents Encounter Christ (REC) in June. Our hope was to encourage these men to honor God in their relationships, especially with their spouses, and to remind them that redemption and restoration is always possible through Christ.

August Update – We recently finished a 6-week couples Bible study through Colossians, are Car Show/Family Day, and another Trivia Date Night

MENTORING

8 couples are active or have completed our 8-week 1.5 hour/week intensive marriage mentoring using the Prepare-Enrich Assessment Program in past 6 months

August Update – We have seen a surge in mentoring requests. We are thankful couples are reaching out for pre-marital and marriage support. This is where discipleship takes place. Please pray for us as and our mentor couples as we mentor couples and share the gospel.

FACILITIES UPDATE

Looking ahead, we had some delays, but we still have plans to add three additional rooms to the MERCI barn. We’ve spent the last several months praying that God would make it clear that this is or is not his will. Things have started to progress, so God willing we are moving forward. These new spaces will provide two private areas for mentoring and an office space. This will also create a potential for offering childcare during events. Both of these are exciting steps toward expanding our impact.

August Update – Contract has been signed and construction on the new addition has begun!
